The Grubber Kick is used to gain ground through a hole in the defensive line or as a means of attacking the space behind the defensive line. It can also be used to transfer possession to a team-mate some distance from the ball carrier.

Create the gap between the defenders
The hand of the kicking foot holds the ball from the top
Other hand lightly supports the ball
Point the non kicking foot in the direction that you want to place the kick
Lift the kicking leg by bending the knee
Drop the ball to a point lower than your knee of the kicking foot
Kick the top half of the ball directing it into the ground
Stop the kicking leg follow through at only 45 degrees
